Sony Xperia i1 Honami leaked picture hints at G-Lens

We would’ve had an album full of the Sony Xperia i1 Honami leaked images, if we weren’t living in the electronic era. The smartphone has once again managed to sneak in front of a camera and Sony seems helpless in keeping its upcoming handset a secret.

Well, we don’t mean the final handset in flesh, but the back panel of a prototype has been captured instead. Printed right next to where the camera rests is ‘XX.XMP’. So, whether the device will indeed peddle a 20MP camera or not is still a mystery. On the other hand, we did have a certain tidbit last month granting credence to this assumption.

As far as the ‘G’ is concerned, we believe it stands for the G-Lens which according to a post on Android Beat, is crafted by the Japanese company itself. Apart from these, there’s not much about the gadget which isn’t already known. The Sony Xperia i1 Honami will most likely sport a 5-inch Triluminos full HD touch display, buried under which is a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor backed by 2GB of RAM.

If earlier rumors are anything to go by, the manufacturer will be pulling the wraps off the Xperia i1 Honami next month at an event in Berlin. We have our fingers crossed for now and hope that the price as well as availability details will be divulged then itself.

Here are the smartphone’s purported specifications:

– Display: 5-inch Triluminos touchscreen
– Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels
– Processor: 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
– Memory: 16GB internal storage space and 2GB of RAM
– Camera: 20MP with G-Lens
– Battery: 3,000mAh
