Sony Xperia E price for India out, available online

Sony has yet to officially launch the Xperia E and E dual in India, though the phones’ price tags have already been made known. And interested buyers have online retailers who’ve jumped the gun and begun taking orders for the devices, to thank for this.

The Jelly Bean-powered handset and its companion would have practically everything in common if it wasn’t for a couple of differences in specs. First off, one is obviously a single SIM version, while the other takes a couple of SIM cards. Incidentally, the last mentioned was unofficially released in the country some time ago and it will run on Ice Cream Sandwich until the manufacturer decides to push out an update for it.

In most other aspects, we could be talking about either of the Android smartphones if we were reciting the specs noted here. The front panel of the device is owned by a capacitive touchscreen of 3.5 inches and 320 x 480p resolution. A 1GHZ MSM7227A Qualcomm Snapdragon processor embedded at the core takes care of the various tasks users put it through and a 5130mAh battery delivers the juice.

A very basic 3.2MP camera with auto focus and 4x digital zoom decorates the rear side and there’s a VGA one above the touchscreen too. The phone uses 512GB of RAM and delivers 4GB of onboard space for hoarding content. If the internal memory falls short of storage needs, there’s the ever obliging microSD card slot which can accommodate an expansion of up to 32GB.

With the Galaxy S4’s Smart Pause, Air View and other signature features still fresh on our minds, let’s just say the standard quirks that arrive with the Japanese company’s devices (admittedly, we’re describing budget smartphones here) fail to impress. But Timescape for managing all of the user’s communications in one spot, the Infinite button for seeing a list of chat messages from one particular friend and similar facilities should come in handy.

Infibeam is vending the Sony Xperia E for Rs. 9,999 and the dual for Rs. 10,990. The former can be picked up in black, white or pink colors, while gold and black are the available choices for the latter. Snapdeal and Flipkart are only stocking the more expensive of the two, in black.
