Gamers certainly have a soft corner for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play which has fortified the tech space ever since its evolution. The company has once more plunged into gaming mood by announcing over 20 new games, comprising 10 exclusive titles, optimized for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

Gamers can immerse themselves in the much anticipated Minecraft game, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Shadow Vanguard and more. The company has confirmed that new games from Sony Computer Entertainment’s stable of classic PlayStation 1 titles will be coming to the Xperia Play soon. Sony Ericsson’s support for the Android ecosystem boasts of its collaborations with prime industry players like Unity and Havok.

“As Xperia Play becomes available to Verizon Wireless customers in the U.S., the portfolio of great games continues to grow and we are delighted to announce 20 new games optimized for Xperia Play,” commented Steve Walker, Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “By building on the open Android ecosystem, we’re providing a brilliant opportunity for developers and game publishers to bring their best titles to new audiences and fantastic new experiences for Xperia Play owners. In addition, the company is developing a program to extend its support and search new forthcoming developers dubbed ‘Stand out from the crowd’. This will help game developers exploit their skills and strive hard to be a part of the Xperia Play story and get their games the profile they require.

The company will offer first hands-on demos of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and many of the new games at E3. The new games are expected to be released in the upcoming months.
