With an objective to deliver social media in one single application, Verizon Wireless collaborated with iSkoot to offer a social media application called the Social Beat. The new app enables Verizon Wireless consumers to stay connected with one single app.
Social Beat allows users to keep in touch with their loved ones through social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. Social Beat enables users to view over 50 customer-selected feeds from top-leading news, sports and entertainment sources. With live feeds and real-time notifications, users can manage their social networking activities effortlessly.
“Social Beat fits well with what Verizon Wireless customers crave — easy access to all of their social media network sites in a single app,” said Jennifer Byrne, director of business development for Verizon Wireless. “iSkoot’s app is available on many of our feature phones and offers an intuitive, easy on-ramp for our customers as they bring their social networking communities into their handsets.”
Once users sign up for Social Beat, they can view several information including friends’ activities, news feeds, status updates and new photos. Users can update their status with messages and tweets and send comments/messages to their buddies. With a personalized news section via single stream on their device, users can receive updates in real-time.
