Snapdeal unveils new SD Kids programme for children

Online marketplace Snapdeal has launched a brand new SD Kids program for children in the age bracket of 0 to 12 years, and it will obviously be parents who will be required to sign up for it. The initiative sounds similar to those automatic diaper delivery and similar services. Imagine that, if it wasn’t for technology, we’d actually have to remember to restock on supplies!

Snapdeal intends to deliver customized promotions and product offers to those who sign up for the SD Kids program. Parents will need to give up some details such as their kid’s name and date of birth in order for the retailer to package the service optimally. The company will monitor the child’s growth and send relevant, age-appropriate deals accordingly.

So people who’ve signed up for SD Kids will receive targeted mails in their inbox on a regular basis, as revealed by Snapdeal’s Saurabh Bansal to PTI. It should help new parents a great deal when it comes to deciding what to buy for their young ones. The
program which was launched last week, has already seen 300 children being registered for it.

Apart from keeping track of the birthdays of kids who’ve been signed up for the service, the online retailer will also gather data to make its more useful be it in the form of noting their favorite products or quantities of purchased items. By the end of this quarter, the company is aiming to having 10000 people depending on this program.

At present, only toys are present in the roster of offerings. But Bansal says that Snapdeal will expand this to include clothing, rides and so on. We daresay phones, tablets and other tech products designed just for tiny tots will also find their way into these promos.
