In December 2009, iPhone users could lay their hands on the hit aerial combat game namely, the Skies of Glory from SGN. Now, the company has released the game for the Android platform. It is also claimed to be the first to launch a multi-platform mobile game, enabling users of iPhone and Android to compete live against each other over 3G, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

With the entry of this game into the Android Market, the company marks a rise in adopting various platforms. The game rides users to the World War II and features classic aircrafts for multiplayer fights over striking terrains like mountain ranges, deserts, islands and oceans. The game allows users to spot, engage and shoot down an iOS- based player, thanks to the multi-player game mode.

SGN CEO Randy Breen, stated, “Mobile phones are unquestionably the gaming platform of the future. Smartphones are becoming accessible to all, and we are really excited to offer a true multi-platform, multiplayer social mobile gaming experience through ‘Skies of Glory’. As more and more people connect with family and friends through gaming, we continue to facilitate that connection regardless of users’ device or platform preferences.”

Identifying the potential of both platforms, the company created an Open Platform Multiplayer Framework for supporting varied platforms and an array of connection capabilities from EDGE to 3G to Wi-Fi, maximizing the connecting ability of users. While playing this game, users are said to experience similar passion and excitement on Android like the iPhone and iPod touch.

Details of pricing for the Skies of Glory are under wraps. The game is available on Android-based phones above 2.0 including the EVO, Nexus and Droid.
