AAA realizes the value of saving money and hence designed an iPhone app known as AAA Discounts. The GPS-based app displays Show Your Card & Save partners close to the users’ location.
The AAA Show Your Card and Save locations are displayed by retrieving the user’s location automatically. Users can pan and zoom on the regional map to locate the place. The iPhone app also displays vital information like the name, address, phone, distance, location and a gist of the discount details.
“At a time when saving money is a top priority, this free application is just one more way AAA is helping members save. We are pleased so many are taking advantage of an easy way to find discounts,” stated Gail Acebes, director, AAA Partnership Programs.
Listings can be filtered by category and users can also avail one click access to a route map and narrative directions. The app functions effectively even on the iPod Touch, when the user has access to Wi-Fi.
The locations which offer discounts can be viewed by all users. However, only members can avail the savings and access Response-based AAA roadside assistance. When members call AAA via the iPhone, their GPS location is transmitted along with the call.
AAA Discounts is available via the iPhone by clicking on the App Store icon or by downloading iTunes on the computer, for free. The application employs AAA’s TripTik Travel Planner along with the iPhone’s GPS functionality.
