Samsung’s flagship Android smartphone spotted with Android Gingerbread?

Samsung Android Gingerbread

Just a couple of days back we had witnessed Samsung pushing out fresh devices almost every other day through several carriers in varied markets. It appears as if the company does not like to disclose its cards beforehand. Although that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few minor leaks here and there. Engadget has been kind enough to share the visuals of what appears to be the first Samsung handset operating on Android 2.3.

The upcoming Android OS update has been nicknamed ‘Gingerbread’. Amusingly, it looks like Google loves adding a tinge of fun to its platform with interesting names such as Cupcake (1.5), Donut (1.6), Eclair (2.0/2.1), Froyo (2.2), Gingerbread (2.3), Honeycomb (3.0) and Ice Cream (anticipated to be 4.0). The uploaded slide displays a smartphone with an ultra sleek from factor. This handset is said to be Samsung’s flagship Android device which might be fitted with 4.3 or 4.5-inch ‘sAMOLED2’ screen (probably standing for Super AMOLED 2).

This just goes to show that the company has worked upon its display and brought a sequel to those that were seen fitted on the Galaxy S series this year. Further, it is speculated to be loaded with a 8 megapixel camera that can record high definition videos in 1080p resolution. the smartphone will be bundling up Bluetooth 3.0, 14.4Mbps HSPA, and 16GB of onboard memory along with a 1.2GHz processor, which also would deliver more power than the 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor seen in the Galaxy S series.

There are chances that the device will see the light by February, next year.
