Samsung is lending a helping hand towards protecting the environment by unveiling its latest S5500E Lydford eco-friendly handset. The blue colored mobile phone from Samsung is made up of recycled materials that make it an environment friendly device.

Apart from being created from recycled materials, the mobile phone’s packaging is also made of recycled paper and is printed with soy ink, reports UnwiredView. The slider boasts of a 2.2-inch QVGA display of unknown resolution. Reportedly, the Samsung handset features an alarm that warns users when the handset’s battery is fully charged. Users can thus save a lot of energy by unplugging the charger at the right time.

Apparently, the Lydford is equipped with UMTS and HSDPA connectivity features that simplify web browsing. Further, the device also sports a 3 megapixel camera. The S5500E may feature two buttons to adjust the volume and a shortcut to the camera.

Samsung has not yet revealed the pricing or availability details of the eco-friendly device. So stay tuned to get the latest updates about the Samsung handset. The handset may seemingly retail for a reasonable price.
