Samsung unveils Android source code for Sprint Epic 4G

Sprint Samsung Epic 4G

Just a couple of days back, we had reported that Samsung Epic 4G was declared as one of Sprint’s best-selling devices for first-day sales. With the device already acquiring such an accolade, the company is set to divulge the Android source code for the Sprint Epic 4G.

According to Android Central, the latest revelation from Samsung would appeal to developers interested in taking a closer peek at the handset. The source is also likely to form the base for custom ROMs as well as other content fashioned specifically for the carrier’s second WiMAX.

The Epic 4G runs the Android 2.1 OS and is powered by a GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application processor. It also offers users 4G connectivity for up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices. The handset sports a 4 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display for viewing loads of pictures and videos with pristine clarity.

The Samsung product can be acquired for a price of 249.99 excluding taxes and is sold with a new connection or eligible upgrade after a $100 mail-in rebate complete with a new service agreement.
