Samsung Rogue Handset

Verizon Wireless had released the Samsung Glyde SCH-U940 a year back, and now the carrier plans to launch its successor Samsung Rogue U960, by the mid of this month.

According to Slashphone, the handset employs the latest Samsung TouchWiz 2.0 user interface. The Rogue incorporates a sliding QWERTY keyboard and features a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash along with geo-tagging capabilities.

Apparently, the side slider is equipped with an accelerometer. The touchscreen handset offers a microSD/microSDHC slot. Users can also enjoy MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA media formats. The handset incorporates Bluetooth version 2.1 along with WAP 2.0 and HTML browsers.

The Samsung Rogue will apparently employ Verizon’s EVDO Rev A data network. Reportedly, connectors are placed at the side of the phone body which facilitates users to access microSD card slot, camera, volume button and USB connection.

The pricing and availability details of the handset are not yet known. The Rogue would probably be made available by Verizon on August 15, 2009. Stay tuned to get the latest updates.
