Samsung has unleashed a new handheld device dubbed Samsung Mondi. Designed to be used with Clearwire’s Clear mobile WiMAX service, this handheld device poses a slider form factor.

The Samsung Mondi adorns a solid black finish and features a large 4.3 inch touchscreen display. It comes integrated with various powerful features of a laptop, netbook and computer. This device also features a set of widgets that can be dragged and dropped anywhere on the screen.

The Samsung Mondi is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and includes Windows Mobile Office and Microsoft Outlook. It supports Opera 9.5 Web Browser that lets users search and access social networking sites as well as messaging services like Fring, Gypsii and MSN Messenger.

“The Samsung Mondi is an important step toward our goal of bringing 4G network speeds and connectivity to people across the U.S.,” adds Bill Ogle, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Mobile. “The Mondi is a great match for people who want immediate access to the Web without having to sacrifice download speed and portability.”

This handheld device offers various multimedia features that let you access Internet, Email, video content and business applications. It also enables users to watch movies, play games and listen to music while on the go.

In addition to this, the Samsung Mondi is bundled with several other features such as 3.0 megapixel camera, 4 GB internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI TV Out and support for Direct Push and Mobile Email.

The Samsung Mondi is expected to arrive in second quarter of 2009. The pricing details are not yet announced.
