Samsung Mobile installs over 90 charging stations in US college campuses

Samsung Mobile Logo College students in the US can now converse relentlessly in their campuses via their handsets without the fear of losing charge. Samsung Mobile recently installed more than 90 charging stations at 20 US college campuses.

The company envisages the installation of charging stations in 10 colleges including San Diego State University, The University of Colorado – Boulder, Texas Tech University, The University of Texas at Dallas, Northern Iowa University, The University of New Mexico, The University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, The University of Miami and Louisiana Tech.

The charging stations are equipped with eight electrical outlets per station, enabling users to charge their mobile phones along with other electronic devices for free. The stations are crafted to charge personal electronics designed for U.S. voltage and incorporates a small shelf to hold mobile phones and other electronic equipment. These charging stations will be installed in student unions and at on-campus sporting venues, facilitating students and faculty members to recharge their handsets and other gadgets conveniently.

So far, Samsung Mobile has installed over 300 Samsung Mobile charging stations in ten of the country’s busiest airports including Miami International Airport (MIA), Houston InterContinental Airport (IAH), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).

Further, Samsung Mobile also aims to place charging stations in 10 additional schools during the spring semester of 2010.
