Following the success of Samsung’s hugely popular Galaxy S based on Google’s Android platform, the company has sought to extend its Galaxy family of smartphones. Samsung India has officially announced the release of its three smartphones dubbed Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Pop.
Sporting an elegant design, the Galaxy Ace is powered by the Android 2.2 OS and runs on 800MHz processor. This should enable users to experience high web browsing speeds along with enhanced overall performance. It shows off a 3.5” HVGA TFT display and encompasses a 5MP flash-enabled camera.
The Social Hub feature provides deep SNS integration, while ThinkFree Office allows users to easily edit Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents. The phone comes equipped with up to seven homescreens for better personalization. Arriving with a free 2GB card for the memory which is expandable to 32GB, the packaging includes changeable color back panels.

Second in this lineup, the Galaxy Fit features a 3.3” QVGA TFT display and is powered by a 600MHz processor. It is also runs Android 2.2 and enables users to access a wide variety of Android and Samsung apps. Seamless connectivity is offered by various attributes such as Wi-Fi and HSDPA 7. It incorporates interesting features such as SWYPE text input, ThinkFree Office and Active Sync among others. The mobile device has a 5MP camera, expandable memory of up to 32GB and a 1350mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Pop is a 3G-enabled Android smartphone that offers fast downloading speeds. It boasts of a 3.1” QVGA 16M TFT display and the Touchwiz 3.0 UI. The various features include built-in FM radio, music player, a 3.5mm ear jack and more. The phone flaunts a 3MP camera and runs on a 1200mAh battery to ensure longer talk time.
The Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Pop smartphones can be purchased with a price tag of Rs. 18,290, Rs. 12,860 and Rs. 11,198 respectively, across all leading Indian retail markets.
