Samsung has announced the launch of five new mobile phones in India. Further, the company appointed Bollywood star Aamir Khan to be the brand ambassador for Samsung handsets in the country.
The new range of mobile phones is sleek and stylish and is being targeted at consumers across the multimedia (imaging and music), business and lifestyle segments. The newly announced Samsung phones include the SGH-i450, SGH-G800, i550, D880 and J210.
The Samsung SGH-i450 is a music phone which promises to give mobile users a Mobile Theatre experience as it offers 3D surround sound powered by ICE Power amplifiers by sound specialists Bang & Olufsen.
Further, the SGH-i450 handset is easy to operate as it features a Music Wheel on its dual slide body. It is priced at Rs.15,000.
Next up is the SGH-G800 which Samsung claims to be the world’s first 5 mega pixel camera phone with 3x digital zoom. It is a part of the popular Samsung Metal Series. Other camera-related features include face detection, Xenon flash and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). Users will also be able to share images and videos with ease.
The next two phones are meant for business people. They are the i550 and the D 880. The i550 which is powered by Symbian S60 OS comes with an in-built GPS Receiver and five hot keys for music, camera, Internet, navigation and main menu. Further, the trackball allows for 360 degrees movement on the screen for navigation and selection. Besides offering Bluetooth audio streaming, the i550 also has a 3 mega pixel camera. The i550 is the most expensive of the lot and costs Rs.25,000.
The Samsung D 880 is a Dual GSM SIM phone which offers features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera, 2.3-inch Wide LCD screen, Bluetooth and Stereo FM Radio. It is priced at Rs.13,799.
Touted to become a hit among the Indian customers is the stylish Samsung J210 which offers a 2 mega pixel camera, FM recording as well as Bluetooth music streaming. The compact J210 phone is priced at Rs.6,649.
