Samsung Jack receives Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade

Samsung Jack was introduced few months back with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Well, this Samsung handset is now upgraded with Windows Mobile 6.5.

According to MobileCrunch, the latest software update released by Samsung features an upgrade to Windows Phone (Mobile) 6.5 and numerous software enhancements. The upgrade will bring several innovative features and functionalities to the Samsung Jack. Reportedly, Samsung Jack owners can now enjoy Internet Explorer 6, the Windows Mobile Marketplace and other Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard features.

With the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, users can search and download innovative apps directly on their handsets. The Samsung handset now presents AT&T Wi-Fi capability via which users can automatically access more than 20,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots all across the nation. Downloading music, streaming videos, games is now made quicker and easier.

Apparently, Vlingo for Windows Phone also comes along with this update. With this feature, users are now capable of sending a text or email message, calling, searching the Web, opening native applications and more, just by speaking into their Samsung Jack Windows Phone. Further, with Internet Explorer Mobile 6 users can experience high quality browsing and media viewing just like a desktop computer.

It must be noted that backup of the device’s data should be taken before upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.5.
