Samsung i7500 Galaxy hits Middle East stores

Samsung Logo The Middle East will now see the first Android powered phone, courtesy Samsung. The mobile phone manufacturer unveiled the i7500 Galaxy for the Middle East markets, reports Phandroid.

The smartphone incorporates a 3.2-inch AMOLED full touch screen offering a premium multimedia content vibrantly. The I7500 packages a comprehensive suite of Google services such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, and Google Talk. It features an integrated GPS receiver that optimizes Google Maps’ capabilities like My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description.

Sandeep Saihgal, general manager of mobile phones at Samsung Gulf Electronics stated, “We are pleased to announce that the Samsung I7500 is available in the market. With the launch of I7500, Samsung sets its leading position in the Android, the industry’s emerging operating system. Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance and has been actively moving forward to introduce the most innovative Android mobile phone. With Samsung’s accumulated technology leadership in mobile phone industry and our consistent strategy to support every existing operating system, I believe that Samsung provides the better choices and benefits to our consumers.”

The Samsung Galaxy boasts of a 5 megapixel camera and supports several multimedia codec formats. The smartphone is inclusive of a powerful 1500mAh battery and offers a memory capacity of up to 40GB. Further, the device offers 7.2Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy is retailed at majority of electronics outlets in the Middle East for AED 2299.
