Samsung i5700 Galaxy-lite gains Wi-Fi Alliance approval

After launching the Android powered i7500 Galaxy, Samsung is believed to reveal the i5700 Galaxy-lite. A document states that the i5700 Galaxy-lite has been approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance, according to Mobilewhack.This unannounced model is speculated to be smaller and cheaper than the i7500 Galaxy.

The i7500 Galaxy was announced in April and has recently received an approval from FCC. It will possess a 5 MP camera and LED flash facility. A 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320×480 pixels is also included. Furthermore, it sports an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and a handwriting recognition tool as well. The device will also support Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity with 8GB internal memory and microSDHC card slot.

Some other features of the i7500 Galaxy are Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration and Voice memo. The mobile phone will work on the Li-ion 1440mAh standard battery and incorporates a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Getting back to the Galaxy-lite, not much is revealed on the spec front apart from its support for Wi-Fi and the inclusion of the Android OS. However, it is believed that this device will be cheaper compared to i7500.
