It looks like hardcore Android fans in India may not have to wait too long to taste the flavor of the season, as Google is now accepting registrations for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The official website of the device in question now has a specific registration page for the country which hints at a release any time soon.
The Galaxy Nexus is the first device to be embedded with the 4.0 version of the Android operating system, better known as Ice Cream Sandwich. This mobile platform presents users with several new functions, as well as cloud connections to allow them to sync content seamlessly across devices. Also, this OS is an effort by Google to develop a common platform for smartphones as well as tablets.
This newbie in the Nexus collection, which boasts of an attractive Android line-up, is embedded with a 1.2GHz dual core processor which takes care of its multitasking needs. The 4.65-inch touchscreen on it is expected to deliver brilliant visuals, attributed to its HD Super AMOLED display.
A host of several interesting features like Face Unlock, Android Beam, and more are also brought along by this handset.
