Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Leak Offers First Look At New Hinge

The second half of the year usually sees Samsung unveil its foldables so fans are currently looking forward to the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s arrival. One piece of information revealed through a new leak should bring them a lot of relief.

It’s regarding the new hinge design that the phone might be bestowed with. MySmartPrice has received an alleged press render of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 from its source and it shows that the device could offer a gapless profile this time around.

Its predecessor, and the devices before it, have all opted for the dated hinge design that causes a waterdrop-shaped gap to appear on the fold. This also leads to a very visible crease on the interior display when the phone is opened up.

But the leaked image suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 might shut without leaving any gap. It also shows the S Pen accessory beside the device but this year’s model too seems to have given its slot a miss. This could mean that the S Pen will need to be purchased separately.

The leaked image even shows that the device might grab the same camera arrangement as its predecessor. Although, no details about its sensors have come out into the open yet.

Rumor has it the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset at its heart. Specifications of its displays are expected to stay the same but we might see upgrades in the battery department.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 could be announced in August this year, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5. We’ll have more on both devices as soon as we receive more information on them.
