MWC debutant, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has made its presence felt in India sooner than expected, even as the device has been unveiled by the company, tagged with a different name suffix, 510. It has been revealed along with a number of other new products from the South Korean brand through an event which is currently underway in Hyderabad. But the device in question, with its S Pen-equipped attributes, is what’s grabbing our attention at the moment. No price or release date information has been shed any light on however.
The Galaxy Note 510 is the same eight-inched hardware which we had heard about through a slew of leaks, and had finally got to witness at the Mobile World Congress gathering in Barcelona last month. One of its main aspects is that despite being a tablet, it features the ability to make voice calls. Asim Warsi, vice president of company’s operations in the country was the one who unveiled the device at the forum event, as disclosed by its Twitter account which gave away the information a few hours ago.
The device in question is fitted with a large 8-inch WXGA display that is able to dole its visuals out with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at 189ppi. Under its familiar user interface lays a familiar OS – Android Jelly Bean 4.1, which should be getting a 4.2 update in the future. Handling its operations is a 1.6GHz quad core processor which is assisted by 2GB worth of RAM.
The slab comes in 16GB and 32GB models, but it’s not quite sure whether or not both or just one will be launched in the nation. Its abilities are taken care of by a 5MP auto focus shooter which tags company of an LED flash as well. For video calling purposes, a 1.3MP camera sits on its front surface right above the screen. A 4,600mAh battery provides power to this tablet which has its dimensions and weight set at 210.8mm x 135.9mm x 7.95mm and 338 grams, respectively.
