XT9 Predictive Text Input

Samsung has decided to enhance their collection of mobile phones. The company has included Nuance’s T9 and XT9 predictive text input products across new phones worldwide. Nuance’s T9 and XT9 are claimed to be the most extensively accepted predictive text technologies that enable faster and easier texting of SMS and emails. Users can also rapidly type URLs by means of any keypad format, counting the usual and touchscreen 12-key and QWERTY keypads.

Samsung can offer ground-breaking predictive text facilities to a wide variety of users in all of its markets, as T9 and XT9 are compatible with over 80 languages. The company can provide Nuance’s novel predictive text abilities on any of its mobile devices, counting those running on Samsung’s own operating systems and others like even Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian. The T9 and XT9 by now are available with a few popular Samsung devices worldwide.

Hyoungmoon No, vice president, R&D Planning Team, Samsung Electronics, commented, “Our global consumers demand innovation in messaging, so anything we can do to make it faster and easier for them is a key dimension of our phone design strategy. This expanded relationship with Nuance ultimately enables our broad consumer base to send messages and emails in half the time, quickly enter URLs, and more, on any phone we bring to market.”

Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile, stated, “Samsung brings innovative phone after innovative phone to market, and we are thrilled to expand our relationship and offer our predictive text solutions to its broad consumer base. We understand the messaging demands that leading global handset manufacturers like Samsung face, so we’re continuously innovating our predictive text input solutions to support any device brought to market, in more than 80 languages worldwide.”

By means of the predictive texts, one can effortlessly swap between input modes and alternate between numbers, letters, symbols, and languages. The XT9 comes with word correction and automatic word completion, which can aid in decreasing general misspellings owing to minute key sizes on conventional and touchscreen QWERTY keyboards. XT9 also facilitates users to rapidly type in URLs on handsets that include an HTML Web browser.

The availability and price of T9 and XT9 on the mobile phones are presently unknown.
