Rogers brings new rates for pay-per-use text messages

Rogers Logo People who enjoy keeping their social life at close quarters by constantly buzzing their friends or family members are in for a treat. Keeping users interconnected, Rogers has recently announced new rates for pay-per-use text messages and additional messages sent above plan/add-on allotment.

Bringing a smile over users’ face, the new rates for all non-premium sent or received text messages will become 20¢/each. Messages sent above the allotment included in a text plan or add-on will also make users fork out as little as 20¢/each. On other hand, text plans and add-ons, subsuming Value Packs will continue to offer unlimited received texts at no charge.

By taking advantage of these new rate plans, users can now save up to 61 percent and dote on unlimited received text messages when they subscribe to a text plan, add-on or Value Pack with a messaging bucket. To notify, consumers who have already subscribed to the above stated schemes will continue to receive messages at no charges.

Rogers postpaid customers have already been notified of the new rate, while prepaid customers will be notified of the change through a text message beginning mid-end January 2011.

Further, the new rate by Rogers will apply to pay-per-use text messaging customers, customers who do not subscribe to an unlimited text messaging add-on, and customers who send more texts than those included in their text add-on allotment.
