Quest Diagnostics Gazelle app arrives for Android

Quest Diagnostics Gazelle App As people become busier with their lives, the more conscious they get about their health. Receiving updates on health issues on phones similar to how one receives updates of mails seems apt for such a situation. Thus a new variant of Gazelle, Quest Diagnostics’ mobile health platform that bears compatibility with the Google Android smartphone operating system has been disclosed.

Gazelle was first released in October 2010 for the Apple iPhone and BlackBerry platforms. The new version makes it possible for patients in 33 states including the Columbia district to get their Quest Diagnostics laboratory test results right on their smartphone.

“Quest Diagnostics is committed to empowering patients to take charge of their health. With the availability of Gazelle for Android, we have expanded the reach and capabilities of our revolutionary health management platform,” said Neil Desai, General Manager, Mobile Health, Quest Diagnostics.

Characteristics of the latest version include supposedly better data sharing capacities for email and fax and also facility for adding contact information for many pharmacies and insurance companies in one account. Furthermore, it allows users to view, record and share data regarding their health while on the move.

It also has a mobile appointment scheduling application by virtue of which patients can enter their respective zip codes to find the nearest company centre. There’s also the phone’s GPS capability through which patients’ current location can be known and convenient appointment times at the closest company location can be viewed. This version can be downloaded for free from Gazelleapp.com and through the Android Market.
