Aiming to bring advancements in picture taking technology is the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor which even happens to include 4G LTE. The S4 camera, also known as the Image Signal Processor or ISP, claims to come incorporated with support for hardware attributes that enhance the whole photo capturing experience.
This technology is a part of the Qualcomm processor which has generated quite a buzz in tech terrain and is expected to be present in quite a few forthcoming tablets and smartphones that are set to be unveiled at the MWC, later this month. The S4 camera touts to convert any smartphone or slate that it would power, into a high-end digital camera.
Mobile devices equipped with the new hardware would supposedly be able to capture 20MP pictures as well as shoot HD videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. It should also let users take stills in 3D with accommodation of a third camera. The Qualcomm software is capable of lending support to many gesture controlled apps that are popularly found in gaming consoles and various home entertainment devices.
The S4 ISP would be equipped with Qualcomm’s proprietary 3A camera technology that features auto exposure, auto white balance and autofocus. The chip boasts of the ability to ensure that attributes such as smile degree, gaze estimation, active ‘Range-Finding’, zero shutter lag, image stabilization and blink detection can lean on it.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 camera is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Mobile World Congress which is to be held in Barcelona between February 27 and March 1.
