Push Gmail now available on iPhone and Windows Mobile

Gmail Google SynciPhone and Windows Mobile users will now have Gmail as their constant companion, Google Sync is offering push Gmail capability. Some time back, Google Sync facilitated users to synchronize their Gmail contacts and Google calendar with their iPhone, Windows Mobile, and S60 handsets.

With this latest addition to the Google Sync services, iPhone and Windows Mobile owners can access their emails instantly via their iPhone or Windows Mobile handset. According to the official Google Mobile Blog, it keeps the users’ inbox updated all the time. Users availing this service simply need to refresh the page every time they need to check their latest mails.

iPhone and Windows Mobile users also have the option to sync just Gmail application. Users can also opt for a combination of all the three, Contacts, Calendar and Gmail. Further, since the Sync works with the mobile phone’s native email application, users need not install any software.

Apparently, the gmail sync also facilitates conversation threading and starring. For gmail sync to be enabled on the iPhone, users need to run OS 3.0 version. People who are already using Google Sync just need to enable push mail. However, new users have to visit Google’s official website and follow the steps accordingly.

Users can also turn off the push function from their phone’s settings and fetch mail every 30 or 60 minutes. Push Gmail appears to be beneficial especially for those always on move.
