Verizon subscribers have a reason to rejoice as the new RIM Blackberry codenamed Niagara hits its network. However, it has a long way to go as it’s said to release in May 2009.
RIM Blackberry Niagara will be an EV-DO handset featuring a 480×360 LCD display, 3.2 megapixel camera, EV-DO Rev. A support, GPS (Global Positioning System). This phone runs on a Qualcomm MSM7600 processor. It also includes 4.7 OS platform and BES 5.0 that supports HTML email etc.
Blackberry Niagara belongs to the large screen family. It is rumored to be similar to another Blackberry Javelin. Blackberry Javelin? Well, Blackberry Javelin is another yet to be launched Blackberry and is said to be similar to Niagara.
There has been no word on pricing so far. Anyways, Verizon customers have to wait for a year to have this phone in their hands. Keeping in mind the ever increasing demand for 3G, hope this 3G less phone does some wonders until next year.
