Pantech Star Q 4G LTE Verizon launch on the cards

Star Q

The Pantech Star Q 4G LTE Verizon device has been leaked to the web, with no precise details about its release date. Playing successor to the Pantech Breakout, it comes across as a budget phone option.

On the specifications front, the Pantech handset apparently rides on ICS and hides a dual core Snapdragon S4 chipset with 1.5GHz clock speeds under the hood. Its front panel is dominated by a 4-inch WVGA display, a pretty disappointing one, though not unexpected taking into accounting the rest of the tech specs. According to the folks over at Android and Me who dug up the news via an anonymous tipster, the device’s display proffers a low resolution and tags along just a 3MP rear snapper. Operating on the service provider’s 4G LTE network, it offers Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity purposes.

Let’s not forget, it’s a slider phone and a 5-row physical QWERTY keypad glides in from beneath the touchscreen. Its exact launch date is not clear, but the handset is making its presence felt via NenaMark benchmarks. A tester has even added some sample images of the Star Q to Picassa. This fresh entrant should be part of the carrier’s QWERTY range that’s inclusive of the Samsung Stratosphere and the LG Enlighten which were unveiled last year.
