Previously, Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam made some comments that the Palm Pre would soon be available on the Verizon Wireless network. Verizon Wireless has confirmed this news recently in a conference call with analysts.
According to I4U, the Palm Pre will be coming to Verizon Wireless early next year. Although the Palm Pre will become a last generation smartphone by then, this partnership will enable Verizon to carry whatever sequels Palm has planned for the Pre as well.
In the investor conference call, Verizon Wireless also announced that most of their earnings are up compared to last year.
Additionally, Verizon is rumored to also be pushing its LTE 4G network in 2010 so that it will launch in time for the Apple tablet.
There was some bad news as well. Verizon Wireless announced that they have suffered a 21 percent drop in profits and therefore are going to reduce the workforce by around 8,000 between now and the end of 2009.
