Recently, a Palm Pre support page was spotted on Dutch provider Hi’s website. Many interpreted it as a future collaboration between the two.
According to Engadget, a spokesperson from KPN, of which Hi is a part, stated that this was not the case. The page was first and foremost not meant for public viewing.
Supposedly, the page was meant to explain what settings users would require for using a Hi SIM card, regardless of whether users got the device from them or via another provider.
The spokesperson also expressed that the company is keenly interested in the Pre, but said that nothing has been made public anywhere in Europe.
The Palm Pre is positioned as a rival to the iPhone and has initiated a turnaround for the ailing Palm company. The phone features the multitasking Palm webOS and has the ability to wirelessly sync with various online sources like Google and Faceook.
