The Palm Centro smartphone will now be available through Verizon Wireless’ network. Posing in cobalt blue, the Palm Centro assures users high-speed communication in a compact package.
The Centro that runs on Verizon’s Wireless network lets you quickly browse rich web content and also provides a faster access to e-mail messages and attachments. The light weight Palm Centro offers a color touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard.
The Palm Centro comes with an in-built Google Maps application and just by selecting the “maps” button you can map a contact’s address directly from the contact application. It also provides VersaMail 4.0, supports built-in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for the Microsoft Direct Push Technology. It offers Wireless Sync that supports POP3 or IMAP e-mail accounts.
The Palm Centro smartphone also features text, picture and video messaging, one-touch speakerphone and conference calling, 2x digital zoom camera, Media player with Pocket Tunes Deluxe, supports Bluetooth v. 1.2, storage of 64 MB, microSD memory card slot supports up to 4 GB, Palm OS 5.4.9, 320 x 320 pixel color touch-screen and full QWERTY keyboard.
The Palm Centro is priced at $99.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate that comes with a new two-year customer agreement. Verizon Wireless’ E-mail and Web for Smartphone is for $29.99 per month and a BroadbandAccess Connect plan in their service package comes for $30. It is said to be available at the Verizon website and also at the Verizon Wireless Communications stores.
