Palm asks developers to submit WebOS apps

After offering the WebOS Mojo SDK through its App Catalog to all developers, Palm is up for something more, according to Intomobile. The company has opened the WebOS App Catalog with an invitation to all WebOS developers to put forward their premium WebOS apps for consideration. These applications by the developers can be either paid or free.

Though developers have the liberty to submit any type of applications, the company is insisting on useful and productive apps for users. The applications should employ device hardware like GPS and accelerometers and WebOS features such as notifications and multitasking.

The functioning of these applications should be uninterrupted without running slow or crashing. The company is offering developers a credit card processing system for hassle free payment and marketing the app in the App Catalog.

The company is asking developers to email their app submissions because the App Catalog e-commerce is still clearing the beta-stage level. 30% of revenues generated through app sales will be taken by the company and the e-commerce beta program is limited strictly to the US currently. Developers are allowed to charge a one-time fee for an application and nothing regarding bill or in-app billing is mentioned till now.

This e-commerce beta program will offer a platform to developers to display applications before presenting them to the App Catalog, so is highly beneficial for them.
