Ovi Contacts bustles out of Nokia Beta Labs

Ovi Contacts

Ovi Contacts entered the Nokia Beta Labs roughly around 18 months ago and enjoys a lot of attention from many Nokia handset users. Now Ovi Contacts has moved out of beta labs and is available to Nokia users, according to the official Nokia Beta Labs blog. Ovi Chat service can now be accessed through Ovi Contacts and Nokia Messaging Chat. Additionally, more efforts will be expended on the Nokia Messaging Chat app that will enable users to access several IM communities including Ovi Chat.

Ovi Contacts enables users to stay connected with friends and stay informed about the latest happenings. Users can also view their friends’ updates in order to catch up with their activities. This app lets users view a friend’s availability status and also share or hide information of their favorite places to visit with friends. In order to further enhance the Nokia Messaging Chat application, the cross-community features and the introduction of various IM communities are also expected to be included in future.

The company will use the experience gathered from the Ovi Contacts development as well as user feedback that was provided for Ovi Contacts in beta labs to fine-tune the Nokia Messaging Chat app. Nokia offers an open platform for supportive suggestions from users in order to improve and include new features into the upcoming app. Ovi Contacts can be downloaded on Nokia devices through the mobile browser. This version is compatible with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 and S60 5th Edition devices through a software update. The application also comes pre-installed with the latest Nokia devices.
