Opera Mini Web browser available for select Virgin Mobile handsets

Opera Logo Opera Software and Virgin Mobile have teamed up to offer Opera Mini browser to several Virgin Mobile handsets in the US. This application will be available on eight Virgin Mobile handsets including Samsung Slash, Shuttle and Super Slice from April 14, 2009.

This client-server based mobile browser has the ability to deliver web pages with lightning speed. It will support two languages, English and Spanish.

“This partnership is a great way for Opera to reach Virgin Mobile USA’s large customer base in the United States,” states Opera CEO Jon S. von Tetzchner. “It demonstrates that Virgin Mobile USA recognizes Opera as a valuable service for its customers, who will now be able to enjoy Opera Mini’s speed and amazing feature set while browsing on the go.”

Virgin Mobile USA prepaid customers with select handsets can download the Opera Mini application for free from the VirginXL download storefront.
