As the date of its launch comes closer, the buzz around the OnePlus 2 refuses to die down, the company slowly releasing all kind of tidbits about its upcoming smartphone touted as the ‘2016 Flagship Killer’. The latest rumors stem from an online retailer’s listing of the phone which provides previously unknown details.
Firstly, the price is shown as $499 (approx Rs 31700). It’s disappointing given an earlier statement by the company’s CEO stating that the cost would be below $450 (roughly Rs 28600). Another contradiction concerns the RAM capacity of the OnePlus 2, promised as 4GB but given as 3GB on the product page. Keep in mind the website is a third-party retailer and could be wrong about the specs and value.
If the page on Oppomart is to be believed, the OnePlus handset will carry an impressive 16MP Sony Exmor IMX 234 main camera accompanied by dual-LED flash and a distortion-free 5MP front lens. It may also have a massive 5.7-inch QHD (2056 x 1440 pixels) display with 571ppi sharpness, which is said to be equipped with energy-efficient CABC and DRAM (Display RAM) technology to ensure longer phone life.

Other details unveiled earlier corroborate with the listing. The OnePlus phone will be 4G-enabled and will run on a 3300mAh battery, Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Color OS and a 64-bit 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor. It will come in a 16GB or 64GB version, although there’s no mention of what the cost will be for each.
No image is provided on the page, so we still don’t know what the OnePlus device looks like. There’s no mention of the weight or dimensions, and nothing about a fingerprint scanner or metal build either. Dual-SIM support and a USB Type-C port were confirmed by the company earlier, but there’s no sighting of them on the site.
