O2 packs in Mobile Broadband onto its Network

O2 Mobile Broadband Loyal UK O2 customers will be pleased to know that the leading mobile network provider has stepped into the mobile broadband arena to provide a packaged customer oriented service. O2 now provides access to mobile broadband and access to internet through laptops over 3G or Wi-Fi connections.

Existing customers of O2 can enjoy the mobile broadband at £20 per month with a 3GB data cap and access unlimited Wi-Fi through the 7,500 hotspots in UK. O2 Mobile Broadband provides an 18-month contract or a rolling one-month contract. The USB modem comes free on the 18 month contract and costs £119.99 upfront on the latter option. If the broadband usage crosses the 3GB cap, then the excess usage will be charged at 20p per megabyte and users will be alerted of their usage every £100 worth of data usage. The modem also alerts users when they reach the 2GB point. As a launching scheme until 31st October users who exceed the 3GB cap will not be charged.

The small USB modem will connect speedily through GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA or Wi-Fi connections. With an approximate speed of 1.8 megabits per second across the network, O2 is all set to turn the mobile broadband tracks on fire.
