Northern India gets GSM services from Aircel

A few states in India are all set to receive an absolute treat. Aircel has joined forces with Nokia Siemens Networks in order to offer and manage radio as well as core network and services in three states. The offering that resulted thanks to this partnership is all part of a deal that is worth more than 300 million USD.

The three Indian states in question here are Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The inhabitants of these places will shortly experience great GSM services from Aircel. The company has opted for Nokia Siemens Networks to provide the GSM network as well as manage it for the next four years. It will unfurl quick and cost-effect radio, core and microwave network equipment. By doing so, Aircel’s carbon footprint is reduced and also prepared to unveil 3G services in the future.

Nokia Siemens Networks is all set to offer its Flexi EDGE Base Station and IP-ready FlexiHybrid Microwave radio products. The company will also bring to the three cities its
mobile softswitch core network, NetAct network management system and NetViewer element manager. A GSM network and similar services were provided by Nokia Siemens Networks to Aircel in many cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi.
