Nokia’s Ovi Store with Orange slated to hit UK and France by 2011

Ovi Store with Orange Nokia had recently launched its Browser for Ovi, proffering consumers with faster means of surfing the internet. A few days back Orange and Nokia unveiled an integrated Ovi service entitled Nokia’s Ovi Store with Orange which could expand the developer ecosystem. Orange subscribers using Nokia handsets can avail of fast and easy access through this amalgamation.

By combining both their forces, the companies can provide users with better functionalities and access. The carrier couples the Ovi content with prominent apps from the Orange Application Shop. This integration touts to offer an easy and smooth experience for its subscribers. Moreover, the company is working with Nokia to develop a range of new handsets with a single sign-on for users. This would simplify the registration and purchasing process.

“Our data shows that two out of every three Ovi Store users choose the simplicity of operator billing when purchasing content. By offering more locally relevant content and the most convenient way to pay for it, we believe Nokia’s Ovi Store with Orange will be a hit with consumers and provide developers with additional revenue opportunities,” commented Marco Argenti, Vice President of Media, Nokia.

Users who buy a Nokia device from the Orange Signature range can access more local content and apps. This would be offered by the Orange developer community and can be procured from the Ovi Store with Orange. Subscribers need not register a second time to access it. Further augmenting the simplicity of this service, handset owners can purchase apps from the Ovi Store and pay for it through their Orange bills.

Nokia and Orange will discuss content creation opportunities with third party developers for the Ovi Store at the Orange Partner Developer Day which will take place in London today. Nokia’s Ovi Store with Orange can be accessed by UK and France’s Orange customers in the year 2011.
