Users accessing Nokia Ovi Contacts can now get their hands on an improved version of the application. The upgraded version is designed for S60 5th Ed and 3rd Ed FP2 devices.

According to the Nokia Beta Labs, the updated client incorporates some new features like file transfer and improved compression. Symbian users can now send heavy files easily with the latest file transfer functionality. Reportedly, the innovative compression capability saves cost, in terms of battery consumption as well as data usage.

Further, it has been observed that the latest Nokia Ovi contacts for Symbian touch and S60 3rd Ed FP2 reduces data consumption by 60 percent, as compared to the previous version. User experience improvements are also made. The new version features Contacts tab, with three quick buttons that enable users to view their friend’s profile (or their own), initiate a chat and also add friends.

The new version of the Ovi Contacts client can be downloaded for free. However, the older version of the Nokia Ovi contacts client is still available for download.
