Nokia Transport, Maps and Drive apps for Lumia handsets updated

Nokia Transport

A suite of applications including Nokia Transport, Maps and Drive for the Lumia range of smartphones is now being updated. While Transport will drop its beta tag, the other two software options will be decked up with some new features.

The Nokia Drive app will boast of two fresh facilities. Firstly, it should come in handy for drivers who worry about crossing speed limits or are concerned about road safety. The system has been equipped to alert users about relevant speed limits, along with other such notifications that will be displayed in the app dashboard. In addition to this, country maps employed with the application can be downloaded for offline use too.

Nokia Drive

“If you are a Nokia Lumia user, some applications are exclusive to you. Among those, we’re proud to list Nokia Transport, Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive, which we recently updated with new features. To get them, look no further than the Windows Phone Marketplace on your Nokia Lumia over the next few hours: you’ll be automatically notified when the updates are available for download,” says a recent post on the official Nokia Conversations blog.

Nokia Maps

Apart from that, avid travelers can now mark their favorite cities and locations in the Nokia Maps application for Windows Phone based Lumia handsets. Another setting that’s been worked into it should let users share related data with friends and family through SMS messages, emails or social networking websites. Launched during the MWC 2012, Nokia Transport has reached 510 cities across 46 countries. It has finally ditched the beta tag and has been updated with the walking directions attribute.

The Nokia Transport, Maps and Drive apps for Lumia devices can be downloaded through Windows Marketplace.
