Nokia Sea Ray to come out in France as the Nokia Sun Windows Phone?

Nokia Sun

If recent reports are to be believed, France should soon see a new Nokia handset powered by the Windows Phone operating system. Speculated to be named as the Nokia Sun for now, this device is what earlier leaks suggest to be the Nokia Sea Ray.

If things turn out as expected, the handset is all set to see the light of the day on either October 26 or 27, which happens to mark the Nokia World event in London. Also, it will purportedly be first released in France through the network operator Orange.

The news first gained attention when the website Mon Windows Phone laid its hands on a snapshot from the French Orange network. Even Gizmodo has been talking about the device being expected to work on the Windows 7.5 Mango update. Additionally, it may be made available during the week 46 of 2011, which will put it on any day between November 7 and 13.

Reportedly, the Sun will sport a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen along with an 8MP camera. Also, the polycarbonate uni-body phone will work on a 1.4GHz processor and it will have an internal memory capacity of 16GB. It should work on a micro SIM card, a first for any Windows Phone member till date.

If the Nokia Sun comes out through the Orange network in France, consumers all over Europe could probably hope to welcome it in their territories too. Unfortunately, nothing’s been given by way of the exact launch date or pricing.
