Nokia launches Files on Ovi Beta

Files on Ovi Beta

With the acquisition of Awenu last December, Nokia has now advanced to the introduction of “Files on Ovi”. Yet in its Beta version, the utility lets you transmit digital content, scape and download from your personal computer at any given time or place. Basic prerequisites for Files are a Windows XP or Vista computer with an internet connection and an internet access on your mobile phone preferably one with unlimited data plan. The unique quality of Files is the absence of a physical connection between your mobile phone and computer.

It features two distinct sections- accessing your files from any internet connected device including mobile phones and a desktop client that sits on your computer. The new service not only lets you access, share and use files securely from your desktop through your mobile phone but also provides you with an online storage space of 10GB or 30GB to upload files so you can share them with your friends and colleagues. Giving you complete access of your entire desktop, Files does not require you to upload from websites or brainstorm ahead of using it. It is not imperative for your mobile phone to have any distinguished software to browse, search or view documents on your computer. Eminent attributes include zoom control allowing you to easily read text on your mobile phone, auto resizing of photos for your mobile screen and downloading music tracks from your computer to your phone.

The paid version “Anytime Files” provides you with a remarkable characteristic of choosing data and folders you require when your computer is turned off and Files keeps updated copies in a restricted ‘Anytime Files’ online storage for effortless access. You can avail the service by subscribing monthly or annually with many low price options. Before purchasing the service, you could also subscribe for the free 60 day trial version. The Nokia Ovi team welcomes you to send feedbacks enabling them to smarten the application and make it bug-free.
