Nokia E72 finally hits stores

Nokia E72 Handset As promised earlier, the Nokia E72 handset has finally hit stores. The ‘made for business and personal messaging’ handset boasts of a full QWERTY keyboard.

Compared to its predecessor E71, the E72 packages a plethora of innovative features like the addition of desktop-like email and chat experiences. The handset is equipped with the latest version of the Ovi Maps with A-GPS navigation and compass. The Nokia mobile phone sports a 5 megapixel camera as well as an optical navi key.

Nokia vice president Ukko Lappalainen, mentioned, “The research shows that people are spending an average of five full days per year – equivalent to a full work week – responding to emails. Half of us (46 percent) choose email over voice or text to send and receive important information. The Nokia E72 was designed exactly with this kind of person in mind – it allows the owner to be more responsive and communicate how they want, whenever they want and wherever they are.”

The E72 features Nokia’s push consumer email service, Nokia Messaging and also allows users to set up instant messaging directly from the homescreen, offering accessibility to communities such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat. The QWERTY phone also allows users to set multiple work and personal email accounts, with separate profiles for work and play.

Apparently, the unlocked version of the Nokia E72 can be purchased for around $524.
