That Nokia is bringing the Asha 210 in India, was already known, but its release date details were under wraps for all this while along with the price. However, now an e-retailer has disclosed that it plans to start shipping the device from May 31 onwards.
Although the Nokia Asha 210 has already been listed on a couple of websites, the Finnish manufacturer hasn’t gone on record to confirm the phone’s availability in the subcontinent as yet. It is the foremost device to embed a dedicated WhatsApp button and will come drenched in multiple shades such as magenta, cyan, yellow, black and white.
Coming to the specifications of the Asha 210, the dual SIM device accommodates a 2.4-inch LCD transmissive screen of 320 x 240p resolution as well as a full QWERTY keypad on the front panel. It measures 111.5 x 60 x 11.8 millimeters and tips the scales at around 99.5 grams. This lightweight gadget is equipped with a 2MP rear-facing fixed focus camera with the ability to record videos at the rate of 10 frames per second.
The phone based on the Nokia Series 40 platform, has 32MB of RAM and its internal memory can be increased with the help of a microSD card of not more than 32GB capacity. Besides dual slots for mini SIM cards, the chassis sports a 2mm charging connector, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB port. And as far as wireless communication is concerned, it has Bluetooth and Slam for transferring data and Wi-Fi for internet access through hotspots.
Pre-loaded with social networking applications like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp amongst others, it boasts of Xpress Browser and even GPS for turn-by-turn navigation. The phone ensures that prospective users do not have to charge it every now and then, as it hides a 1200mAh removable battery under the hood. It can cough up the juice for 2G talk time of about 12 hours or music playback time of approximately 40 hours at a stretch.
The Nokia Asha 210 is expected to start shipping on May 31 via Saholic for a price of Rs. 3,999. Infibeam has also put up the device on its website, but without shipping or price details.
