The Nokia 114 has been unveiled in India with the price and all, putting an end to a month-long wait. The phone has made its way to the market and can be picked up through various retail and online shopping outlets.
Unlike high-end handsets such as the Lumia 920 or the mid-range Lumia 820, the 114 by Nokia aims at those on a lookout for not so ostentatious and affordable phones. The device can be aptly called petite with a 110mm x 46mm x 14.8mm frame and a weight of 80 grams.
It encases a 1.7-inch LCD screen, beneath which rests an alphanumeric keypad. The company eagerly states that the metallic key mat is well-spaced to facilitate typing with ease. The panel also gives shelter to a buttons like send, end, menu, five way navigation and power-cum-end. For multimedia purposes, there is a VGA camera which unfortunately is the only medium of clicking pictures or recording videos.
The OEM may not have offered much in terms of flash memory, but it manages to cram in a microSD card slot which allows expansion of up to 32GB. Seeing as everyone is promoting social networks, be it a manufacturer or a carrier, the Finnish company has no intentions of lagging behind either. It has built the phone to permit Facebook and Twitter access directly from the home screen.
Easy Swap complements the dual SIM feature and can be regarded as one of the significant highlights. Users will be able to hop between one SIM to another without needing to turn off the handset. Also, the embedded 1,020mAh battery should suffice to render approximately 10 hours of talk time or 637 hours of standby as per the company’s claims.
The cost for the Nokia 114 has been set at Rs. 2,549 in India. Those interested will also find it on Flipkart for Rs. 2,199, whereas it has been slapped with a tag of Rs. 2,225 at Snapdeal. Both the e-retailers are selling it in shades of black, cyan and dark purple. Moreover, eBay has stocked the handset at varying retail values.
