New LanSchool EdApp Student SDK and Certification for iPhone

LanSchool EdApp logoLanSchool Technologies has announced a new SDK and Certification logo for iPhone application developers called EdApp Certified. With this logo, application developers can manage their creations in the education market in a better manner. Without this SDK, there were fewer chances of running LanSchool in the thread. Also conventional classroom functions such as thumbnail monitoring did not seem a possibility.

With the help of EdApp Certified apps, teachers can perform various functions via the LanSchool Lite console which comes free of cost for K-20 educational organizations. The console can help educators discover and monitor student devices, view current as well as previously visited URLs, check on student progress through the application or check the final score, take heed of student requests and keep a tab on battery consumption as well.

Vice President of LanSchool, Ben Cahoon remarked on the launch of the new SDK by saying that, “With this free SDK, educational app developers can embed classroom management features into their apps and make the devices manageable.”

While educators can perform the above mentioned functions for free with the LanSchool Lite Console, they can enhance their teaching by utilizing the paid version of LanSchool v7.4. With this version, teachers can assess student understanding via the built-in classroom response system and also send across important messages to students.

LanSchool will be publishing a list of the available EdApp Certified applications on their website and will also be permitting application developers to integrate the EdApp certified logo in their marketing materials. The SDK has been made available to almost all developers who develop educational applications, for no cost at all.
