Navigon GPS Navigation coming on Android

Navigon Logo Sure enough, a lot of companies are taking a crack at deploying exceptional navigation technology. This time, Navigon has recently announced an upcoming release of its on-board navigation application, MobileNavigator, for Android mobile phones in North America.

Originally released on the iPhone, the app for Android utilizes the phone’s on-board GPS receiver and pre-loaded maps to offer navigation when there is no cellular coverage. Bringing forth premium features, it also relies on the devices’ critical data in order to provide full function navigation capabilities when a cell signal is not available. MobileNavigator seamlessly delivers an excellent on-board experience comparable to standalone personal navigation devices, without having to purchase, carry and use multiple devices.”

The Navigon MobileNavigator for Android phones will come with engaging features such as Reality View Pro, Lane Assistant Pro, Speed Assistant and Day & Night Mode. In addition, it comes equipped with the company’s sophisticated and elegant map views including branded POIs along the route.

Besides, the app features automatic switch between portrait and landscape format, intelligent address entry, real signpost display and GPS simulation in tunnels.

Anticipated to knock in Spring 2010, the app will be available for a one-time free.
