MySpace uses the RipCode’s On-Demand Video Transcoding technology to offer an enhanced experience in mobile video contents. The users can upload videos and other contents from various other channels like National Hockey League, National Geographic, TMZ and many more. The transcoding technology allows MySpace to provide support for various devices even if it requires different combinations of codec’s, resolutions and bit rates.

John Faith, vice president and general manager of Mobile for MySpace said, the company’s growing community of users is increasingly interested in portability and on-the-go access to content. “Video is a natural next step for us in mobile,” says Faith. “MySpace will continue to grow our video library as we increase delivery channels in order to keep pace with our users’ accelerating desire for video consumption.”

MySpace mobile video application will be available in beta worldwide supporting video enabled devices. Price details are not yet revealed.
