Those who think they’re losing out on the advantages offered by Android apps due to the obvious compatibility issues with other platforms can soon bid farewell to them. Myriad has announced the release of Alien Dalvik, which enables Android apps to work on non-Android platforms. Along with creating revenue benefits for OEMs, mobile operators and app store owners, the launch aims at providing a heightened Android experience to wider audience.

The software company’s newest offering allows various Android apps to run seamlessly on an extensive range of devices and platforms. So application store owners, operators and OEMs can now offer Android applications across multiple device operating systems by accessing the Android ecosystem.

“The proliferation of Android has been staggering, but there is still room for growth. By extending Android to other platforms, we are opening up the market even further, creating new audiences and revenue opportunities,” explained Simon Wilkinson, CEO, Myriad Group.

Users should be able to easily install and run Android applications on any device with relative ease courtesy of Alien Dalvik. This new software claims to open up newer avenues by providing access to innumerable applications; indirectly leading to the increase in frequency of downloads and mounting ARPU.

At this year’s MWC, Alien Dalvik will be made available for first time on the Nokia N900 smartphone. It is set to be commercially available on MeeGo devices later this year. Myriad’s latest offering’s support to other platforms will be announced sometime in the near future.
