Another day, another budget Android smartphone hits India, with today’s special being the MTS Blaze 4.5 priced at Rs 9999. The dual SIM phone supports both GSM and CDMA bands. Most interestingly, it embeds a 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 processor, which is pretty unusual considering that MediaTek is normally the choice for inexpensive handsets such as this.
But then again, the Canvas Blaze over which MTS joined hands with Micromax, did have a Qualcomm chip too and cost Rs 10999. The Blaze 4.5 hasn’t appeared on the company’s website, but an online portal is offering it up for grabs. The phone’s front panel is black, while its rear cover takes on a deep metallic blue color.
Key features:
The Blaze 4.5 is actually a product of ZTE and MTS has merely put its stamp on it. After all, the latter is a telecom operator and not a manufacturer. So some special deals like a 1GB data offer and preloaded MTS applications will be part of the package.
The device has a quad core processor, unlike the Canvas Blaze which only had a dual core chip. But it does have a display that is slightly smaller than the Micromax phone’s screen and a 5MP camera instead of an 8MP one. The talk time is a disappointment at just 4 hours though.
